Zoox Robotaxis Could Soon Be Available on Uber in Las Vegas
-

Autonomous vehicle company Zoox, owned by Amazon, plans to make its robotaxis available through the Uber app in Las Vegas later this year. The rollout is part of a multi-year strategic partnership between the two companies, though Zoox must first receive approval from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to commercially deploy its fully autonomous vehicles, which are designed without steering wheels or pedals.
Before joining the Uber platform, Zoox intends to launch its own commercial robotaxi service. The company currently offers free demonstration rides in Las Vegas and San Francisco, while expanding mapping operations in several other US cities including Dallas and Phoenix. The partnership could also expand further, with plans to bring Zoox robotaxis to Los Angeles through Uber by 2027 as both companies push deeper into the autonomous ride-hailing market.
