Amazon Expands Health AI Assistant to Its Main Website and App

Amazon has expanded access to its healthcare assistant Health AI, bringing the tool to its main website and mobile app. Previously, the assistant was only available through the One Medical app, the healthcare service Amazon acquired for $3.9 billion in 2023. Health AI is designed to answer health questions, explain medical records, manage prescription renewals, and help users book medical appointments.

According to Amazon, the assistant can provide general health information even without access to personal medical records. However, with a user’s permission, it can connect to the national Health Information Exchange system to review lab results, diagnoses, and treatment data. This allows the AI to provide more personalized insights about symptoms, medications, and potential care options directly within the Amazon platform.
