Microsoft and Google Confirm Continued Access to Claude AI

Major tech platforms have confirmed that businesses can continue using Claude AI despite recent tensions between Anthropic and the U.S. government. Both Microsoft and Google stated that the AI model will remain available across their products and cloud services for enterprise customers, as long as the usage is not connected to U.S. defense contracts.

The reassurance comes after the United States Department of Defense designated Anthropic as a supply-chain risk following the company’s refusal to provide unrestricted access to its technology for applications such as mass surveillance and fully autonomous weapons. Despite the designation, Microsoft confirmed Claude will still be accessible through platforms like Microsoft 365, GitHub, and AI Foundry, while Google said the model will continue to be offered through Google Cloud for non-defense projects.
