Ubisoft Confirms Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake as “Black Flag Resynced”
-

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that the long-rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is real, revealing its title as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The confirmation arrived as part of the company’s broader “Assassin’s Creed: Into 2026” update, where Ubisoft shared a concept image of Edward Kenway standing atop a ship’s mast, finally putting years of speculation to rest for fans of the beloved pirate adventure.
While the remake is now confirmed to be in development, Ubisoft has not shared details about its release window or how much the gameplay, story, or visuals will change from the 2013 original. Rumors previously suggested a possible 2026 launch, but recent restructuring within Ubisoft may have delayed those plans. For now, the studio is simply teasing fans to “keep your spyglass on the horizon,” hinting that more information about Black Flag Resynced will arrive in the future.
