Assassin’s Creed Hexe Reportedly Targeting Late 2027 — Ezio Rumored to Return
-

Assassin's Creed Hexe is reportedly aiming for a late 2027 release, according to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson. First revealed during a 2022 Ubisoft Forward showcase, Hexe is rumored to be set in Central Europe during the final centuries of the Holy Roman Empire, potentially centering on witch trials in the 1600s. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal — the team behind Assassin's Creed Valhalla — the project is internally known as “Neo” and is expected to follow Ubisoft’s typical holiday release pattern for mainline entries.
The report also claims Hexe will significantly revamp combat, emphasizing extreme acrobatics, with Ubisoft even hiring a contortionist for motion capture to enhance agility-focused animations. Perhaps most intriguing is the rumor that franchise icon Ezio Auditore da Firenze was once planned to appear mid-story as a mentor figure — though timeline inconsistencies may complicate that idea. With Assassin's Creed Shadows already paving the way for the franchise’s next era, Hexe is shaping up to be one of the series’ boldest and most mysterious chapters yet.
