Miyazaki’s Vision May Be the Key to Bloodborne’s Future
-

Speculation around the remake has centered on director Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creative force behind Bloodborne as well as Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring. In a separate interview, former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida suggested Miyazaki may prefer to handle any potential remake himself — but is currently too busy to revisit the project.
Miyazaki is now leading development on The Duskbloods, a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive that reportedly shares Bloodborne’s gothic aesthetic while leaning more heavily into multiplayer elements.
Bluepoint previously earned praise for its remake of Demon's Souls on PS5, making it a natural candidate for a Bloodborne revival. With that pitch rejected, the future of Bloodborne remains uncertain — though if Miyazaki ever decides to return to Yharnam himself, fans may yet see the cult classic reborn.
