Overwatch Celebrates Season 1 Success With Double XP Weekend and Free Loot Boxes

Overwatch is thanking players for a massive Season 1 comeback with a surprise Double Match XP weekend and five free Loot Boxes. From February 20 at 11 AM PT through February 23, players earn double Battle Pass XP from matches — and anyone who logs in during the event automatically receives five free Loot Boxes.

The Double Match XP applies to base match XP, including bonuses from grouping up or queuing for in-demand roles, meaning players can rack up over 2,000 Battle Pass XP per game. However, daily and weekly challenge XP, as well as hero progression XP, remain unaffected. The free Loot Boxes are automatically credited upon login and can be opened from the in-game inventory.
