September Bitcoin Buys: “Fully Disclosed,” Says Metaplanet

Gerovich addressed claims that Metaplanet secretly accumulated Bitcoin at a local peak in September 2025. According to the company’s public dashboard and filings, the firm purchased 1,009 BTC on Sept. 1, 136 BTC on Sept. 8, 5,419 BTC on Sept. 22, and 5,268 BTC on Sept. 30 — each transaction reportedly announced shortly after execution.

The CEO also defended the company’s use of put options and put spreads, describing them as structured strategies to acquire BTC below spot prices and monetize volatility for shareholders. Rather than speculative gambling, he framed the derivatives activity as disciplined treasury management designed to enhance long-term Bitcoin accumulation.
