YouTube Brings Conversational AI to Smart TVs and Consoles

YouTube is expanding its conversational AI tool to smart TVs, gaming consoles, and streaming devices, bringing interactive assistance to the biggest screen in the house. Previously limited to mobile and web, the feature now allows eligible users to press an “Ask” button while watching a video and get instant answers without leaving the app.

Viewers can use their remote’s microphone to ask context-based questions — like recipe ingredients in a cooking video or the meaning behind song lyrics — and receive real-time responses. The rollout is currently available to select users over 18 and supports English, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean. The move comes as TV has become YouTube’s fastest-growing viewing platform.
