ROG Xbox Ally X Price Jumps in Japan Amid Component Crisis
-

The ROG Xbox Ally X has become significantly more expensive in Japan, with its price rising from 139,800 yen to 169,800 yen (tax included) — roughly a $195 increase. The handheld, developed through a collaboration between Asus and Microsoft, originally launched in October 2025 and allows players to access PC storefronts like Steam and Battle.net via Windows 11.
While the device still carries a $999 MSRP in markets like the United States, the sharp increase in Japan highlights mounting pressure on hardware pricing. Notably, the lower-spec ROG Xbox Ally model has not seen a similar adjustment. For now, the price hike appears limited to Japan — but broader industry trends suggest other regions may not be immune for long.
