Poland’s President Vetoes MiCA Bill Again, Crypto Industry Left in Limbo
-

Karol Nawrocki has vetoed Bill 2064, marking the second rejection of legislation intended to align Poland’s crypto framework with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). The president described the proposal as “practically identical” to a previously rejected bill, arguing that passing the same measure again would not fix what he sees as fundamental flaws.
The move comes as the Polish Financial Supervision Authority warns that Poland has yet to designate a competent authority to oversee crypto markets ahead of the July 1, 2026 MiCA transition deadline. While some industry players welcome the veto as a stand against overregulation, the absence of implementing legislation leaves local platforms facing mounting uncertainty as EU-wide compliance rules approach.
