Creative Jobs Remain Safe, But AI is Getting Smarter
-

The RLI study offers reassurance to workers worried about AI taking their jobs, at least in the near term. Tasks tested—ranging from building interactive dashboards to animating videos and designing container homes—proved too complex for even the most advanced AI models. The low performance rates show that humans remain far superior in creative, multi-step problem solving, and AI cannot yet replicate the quality of professional freelance work.
Still, experts warn against complacency. “Absolute automation rates are low, but models are steadily improving,” researchers said, highlighting measurable progress in AI capabilities. As AI continues to evolve, it may take on simpler or more repetitive tasks first, gradually encroaching into higher-skill areas. The takeaway? Workers should remain vigilant, keep learning, and update their skill sets, because while AI isn’t replacing humans today, its trajectory indicates it will become increasingly capable in the coming years.
