Amazon Explores AI Content Marketplace for Publishers
-

Amazon is reportedly considering launching a marketplace where publishers can license content directly to AI companies, offering a new, legally safer source of training data. The Information reported that Amazon shared slides mentioning the initiative ahead of an AWS conference for publishers, and has been meeting with media executives about the potential platform.
The move reflects a growing trend in the AI industry to secure licensed content for training models. Microsoft already operates a Publisher Content Marketplace, giving publishers revenue while providing AI systems with scalable access to premium content. Amazon’s marketplace could similarly help publishers monetize their work amid ongoing concerns over AI-generated summaries reducing website traffic.
