Callum Vinson Cast as Atreus in Amazon’s God of War Series
-

Amazon has officially announced that young actor Callum Vinson will play Atreus, Kratos’ son, in the upcoming God of War adaptation on Prime Video. The series will focus on the events of the 2018 game, skipping the original Greek-set titles. Atreus’ complex relationship with Kratos—strained at first but evolving over the journey—is central to the story, making Vinson’s casting a key choice. He takes over from Sunny Suljic, who earned a Game Awards nomination for his performance in God of War Ragnarök.
Vinson brings experience from shows like Poker Face, Chucky, and Long Bright River, and recently portrayed a young Jason Voorhees in Crystal Lake. Alongside Vinson, Amazon has cast Ryan Hurst as Kratos, with fan-favorite actors Max Parker, Teresa Palmer, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and Mandy Patinkin joining as Heimdall, Sif, Thor, and Odin. While Freya’s casting remains unannounced, fans are optimistic, especially given Amazon’s track record with game adaptations like Fallout and its close collaboration with Sony for this project.
