The upcoming Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered will use Unreal Engine 5, Koei Tecmo confirmed, moving away from the studio’s in-house Katana Engine. The remaster aims to modernize the franchise’s classic 2001 title, enhancing graphics and evolving the original action system while preserving core hack-and-slash gameplay.

Players can expect content from the Xtreme Legends expansion, new difficulty levels, and Musou modes for previously unaffiliated characters. The remaster arrives after 2025’s Dynasty Warriors: Origins, which shifted the series toward a story-driven approach with a new protagonist. Koei Tecmo has yet to announce a new release date, leaving fans eager for the next chapter in the long-running series.
