Researcher Finds Massive Database of Stolen Login Credentials

A cybersecurity researcher has uncovered a massive, publicly accessible database containing millions of stolen login credentials collected from malware-infected personal devices. The dataset included accounts linked to major platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Netflix and the crypto exchange Binance.
According to a blog post published by ExpressVPN, researcher Jeremiah Fowler found roughly 149 million usernames and passwords exposed online. The records included 48 million Gmail accounts, 17 million Facebook accounts and at least 420,000 credentials associated with Binance users.
Fowler warned that the discovery highlights the growing global threat posed by credential-stealing malware, which can expose personal, financial and crypto-related accounts at scale.
