NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway to shut down in February

Nifty Gateway, one of the earliest and most recognizable NFT marketplaces, will shut down operations next month as the sector continues to struggle through a prolonged downturn.

The Gemini-owned platform announced that it will officially close on Feb. 23, 2026, and has already entered withdrawal-only mode. Users now have roughly one month to move any remaining NFTs or funds off the platform.

A shutdown notice has been posted on Nifty Gateway’s homepage, with withdrawals available through linked Gemini Exchange accounts or directly to bank accounts via Stripe. The company said customers holding NFTs, Ether, or U.S. dollar balances will receive email instructions and urged users to complete withdrawals before the deadline.
