Senate Democrats Push Ethics Rules Into Crypto Bill
-

US Democratic senators working on crypto market structure legislation have filed a fresh wave of amendments, with a strong focus on ethics and conflicts of interest. The proposals come just days before the Senate Agriculture Committee is scheduled to mark up the bill, which aims to clarify how digital assets are regulated and which agencies oversee the industry.
One of the most significant changes would add the Digital Asset Ethics Act, sponsored by Senator Michael Bennet, to prevent US officials from profiting from the crypto sector. The move follows growing criticism from Senator Elizabeth Warren and other Democrats over President Donald Trump’s alleged crypto ties, including his involvement with World Liberty Financial.
