Refunds Ordered and Heavy Penalties Loom

Beyond halting new offerings, Tennessee regulators ordered the platforms to void all existing sports-related contracts held by state residents and refund all user funds by Jan. 31, 2026. Failure to comply could result in fines of up to $25,000 per violation.
The council also warned that continued noncompliance could trigger court injunctions or referrals to law enforcement for further investigation into illegal gambling activities. The move sends a clear signal that Tennessee intends to strictly enforce its sports betting laws.
