The UK authorization could have longer-term implications for Ripple’s stablecoin ambitions, particularly its dollar-backed token Ripple USD. While the current license doesn’t yet permit issuance, regulatory groundwork is now in place as Ripple navigates future approvals.
At the same time, Ripple is signaling stability in its corporate strategy. Company president Monica Long recently reaffirmed that Ripple has no plans to pursue an IPO, even after a funding round that valued the firm at $40 billion. For now, Ripple appears focused on regulatory expansion and product development — not public markets.
