Colombia Introduces Mandatory Crypto Reporting Rules
-

DIAN, Colombia’s tax authority, has rolled out a new mandatory reporting regime for crypto service providers as part of tighter oversight of the digital asset sector. The rules were formalized under Resolution 000240, issued on Dec. 24, and apply to exchanges, custodians, and other crypto intermediaries operating in or serving Colombia.
Under the new framework, service providers must collect and submit user identification and transaction data for reportable accounts. The obligations fall on platforms rather than individual users, but they significantly expand the level of transparency required in Colombia’s crypto ecosystem.
