Splinterlands COO Dave McCoy said the fund is designed to rebuild trust:

“We are just the first, but hopefully many others join us. Somebody has to step up.”

The DAO-governed fund starts with 2M SPS tokens ($16K) and 5,000 packs, scaling up to 10M SPS ($82K) and 25,000 packs by year 7. Rewards are split among active players—if only one player qualifies in a pool, they get everything.

Splinterlands hopes this initiative will bridge abandoned gamers into new projects and show the industry it can support its community even through failures.
