Why the CLARITY Act Is Taking Longer Than Crypto Wants
-

A senior executive at Coinbase says the slow progress of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act — better known as the CLARITY Act — is frustrating but necessary. Coinbase’s institutional head of strategy, John D’Agostino, said the bill is foundational legislation that requires careful construction rather than speed.
According to D’Agostino, the CLARITY Act goes far beyond stablecoin rules, addressing the full structure of crypto markets in the US. While impatience is growing across the industry, he argued that market-structure legislation must be durable enough to support long-term innovation and investor protection.
