Flow Moves Into Phase Two After $3.9M Exploit

The Flow Foundation has entered the second phase of its remediation plan following a $3.9 million exploit that disrupted the network over the weekend. Developers say they have made “significant progress,” identifying a path to restore Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) functionality while continuing parallel fixes on Flow’s native Cadence chain.

Unlike an earlier proposal that suggested rolling back the blockchain, the current approach avoids rewriting history. Cleanup transactions are being executed under validator-authorized boundaries and remain fully auditable on-chain, a move aimed at preserving decentralization while steadily restoring network operations.
