Treyarch Pushes Back on SBMM Holiday Rumors
-

A design director at Treyarch Studios has directly addressed growing frustration around skill-based matchmaking in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Responding to player speculation that matchmaking was secretly adjusted for the holiday season, design director Matt Scronce stated bluntly that no such changes were made.
The clarification shut down a popular theory among fans who felt lobbies had become noticeably harder. Skill-based matchmaking remains unchanged, Scronce said, continuing to factor in performance metrics like K/D ratio and objective play — even as player frustration around the system continues to grow.
