xAI Cuts 500 Staff, Shifts AI Training Strategy 🤖

Business Insider reports that xAI has laid off at least 500 employees from the team responsible for structuring and categorizing data to train Grok models.

At the same time, the company plans to expand its AI training team tenfold, focusing on niche experts rather than broad “generalist trainers.” Employees are being asked to take tests covering science, coding, finance, medicine, and chatbot safety & behavior to identify their strengths and new roles.
