Poor Tokenomics Could Kill Most Altcoins by 2026
-

Michaël van de Poppe believes flawed token economics will be one of the biggest reasons many altcoins fail in 2026. According to the analyst, poor financial planning, excessive token inflation, and mismanaged treasuries have left many projects unable to recover from deep market drawdowns. He explained that some teams “screwed up their tokenomics” so badly that even a market rebound may not save them. With prices down nearly 90% across much of the altcoin market, many projects no longer have the runway needed to rebuild.
As capital becomes more selective, Van de Poppe warns that weak fundamentals could permanently eliminate a large portion of today’s altcoins.
