Petition for Samourai Wallet Co-Founder Draws Support as Trump Signals Review

A petition calling for clemency for Keonne Rodriguez has gathered more than 12,000 signatures, highlighting ongoing concern among crypto developers and privacy advocates. Rodriguez was sentenced in November to five years in prison over his involvement with a crypto mixing protocol.
US President Donald Trump said in December that he would review the case, telling reporters he had heard about it and was open to taking a closer look. Rodriguez has since publicly appealed for a pardon, framing his prosecution as politically motivated “lawfare.”
While no decision has been announced, Trump’s remarks have kept the possibility of clemency in focus.
