Samourai Wallet Co-Founder Shares First Days Inside US Federal Prison
-

Keonne Rodriguez, co-founder of the Bitcoin privacy tool Samourai Wallet, documented his first days inside a US federal prison in a letter shared on Christmas Eve. The account detailed his surrender to a prison camp, including intake procedures such as searches, medical checks and placement into housing.
Rodriguez also reflected on the emotional toll of entering custody just days before Christmas, describing the experience as difficult but manageable. He noted that fellow inmates had been respectful and welcoming, and said he was scheduled to receive his wife as his first visitor on Christmas Day.
The letter marked Rodriguez’s seventh day at the facility.
