Midrange RTX Cards Could Be at Risk as Nvidia Eyes Profitability

Rumors indicate Nvidia may focus future GPU production on higher-end models, potentially cutting output of popular midrange cards like the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5070 Ti, both of which use 16GB of GDDR7 memory. These models are less profitable than flagship GPUs such as the RTX 5080, making them more vulnerable during a prolonged RAM shortage.

Despite the uncertainty, PC gamers still have a window to upgrade. Retailers continue to stock RTX 5070 Ti cards at MSRP, offering features like DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation. However, with scalpers already driving RTX 5090 prices far above retail, any confirmed production cuts in 2026 could make well-balanced, high-VRAM GPUs harder to find.
