Mozilla has appointed Anthony Enzor-DeMeo as its new CEO, signaling a renewed push to adapt in a browser market increasingly shaped by AI. The move comes as competitors like Chrome, Safari, and newer players such as Perplexity and Arc integrate AI directly into the web experience.

Enzor-DeMeo, formerly general manager of Firefox, said Mozilla will invest in AI features for Firefox but make them optional, keeping user choice a priority. The company also plans to diversify revenue beyond search and expand Firefox into a broader ecosystem of trusted software, including Thunderbird, VPN services, and AI-powered tools for small businesses.
