ChatGPT Opens Its App Store to Developers

OpenAI has officially opened the doors for developers to publish apps inside ChatGPT, marking a major step toward building a full in-chat ecosystem. Developers can now submit their apps for review through the OpenAI Developer platform, with approved apps expected to roll out in ChatGPT over the coming year.

The new app directory — already being called an “app store” — lets users access third-party services directly in conversations. From ordering groceries to building slide decks or searching real estate, OpenAI says apps will extend ChatGPT beyond answers into real-world actions.
