Tempo Testnet Lets Users Mint Stablecoins Directly in the Browser
-

Following Tempo’s public testnet launch, Paradigm CTO Georgios Konstantopoulos highlighted one standout feature: users can now create stablecoins straight from their web browsers. These assets are built using Tempo’s TIP-20 token standard, designed for stablecoin-native applications.
While the testnet showcases Tempo’s tooling, liquidity and collateral requirements for mainnet issuance remain unspecified. The launch comes just months after Tempo raised $500 million at a $5B valuation, underscoring investor confidence in a payments-optimized blockchain offering predictable fees and instant settlement. -
Browser-native minting is a massive UX upgrade for stablecoin users.

If this scales, onboarding into Web3 becomes way easier.
