Italy Sets MiCA Deadline
-

Italy’s securities regulator CONSOB has set a hard deadline for crypto platforms ahead of the EU’s MiCA rollout.
Dec. 30 is the last day VASPs registered with OAM can operate under Italy’s old regime.
After that, only MiCA-authorized CASPs — including firms passporting in from other EU states — may legally offer crypto services in Italy.
Platforms that apply by the deadline may continue operating temporarily, but no later than June 30, 2026. -
Italy setting a MiCA deadline shows the EU’s regulatory machine shifting into gear.
