Uber Expands Global AV Network With WeRide in the Middle East

Uber continues its aggressive push into autonomous vehicles, partnering with 20 AV companies worldwide.
Its newest live deployment — WeRide robotaxis in Abu Dhabi — mirrors the Uber–Waymo operations in Austin, giving riders seamless access to self-driving rides through the Uber app.The partnership includes fleet operator Tawasul, and expansion plans target Dubai, plus 15 cities across the Middle East and Europe.
This rollout is part of Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi’s projection that autonomous vehicles will operate on the Uber network in at least 10 cities by 2026. -
