Hunt: Showdown 1896 Launches “Web of the Empress” Event Tomorrow

The latest event for Hunt: Showdown 1896, Web of the Empress, is set to begin on Sept. 24, 2025, introducing new weapons, items, and locations for players to explore.

A key addition is the Tarot Card system, found in Bilewater Nests at web-covered locations. Players can collect cards such as:

The Empress: Grants Catalyst, Necromancer, and a random rare trait

The World: Reveals all Boss target locations

The Fool: Copies the last Tarot Card used

The Hanged Man: Allows spectating the nearest enemy Hunter (who is warned afterward)

The Tower: Deals massive area damage but sets the user on fire

The event comes as part of update 2.5, which also includes gameplay improvements such as enhanced melee hit detection, increased reach for melee attachments, and new scarce weapons, Homestead 78 and Wildland. A highly requested feature allowing players to invite a random third person into the lobby has also been added.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is a first-person extraction shooter originally released in August 2019 on PC, later expanding to consoles including Xbox One, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
