Sony Rolls Out PlayStation 5 Digital Edition With Reduced Storage
-

Sony has quietly released a new version of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition (CFI-2116), reducing internal storage from 1TB to 825GB. Despite the downgrade, the console is being sold at the same price as the original model. The reduction of roughly 200GB may not impact small indie games, but players looking to store multiple AAA titles could find space limited. The new revision, called Chassis E, is currently only available in Europe, with no word on a US release.
Industry analysts speculate the change could be a profit-balancing move without raising prices further, but Sony has not provided an official explanation.
