657 Million Dollars in Crypto Liquidations Hit in 24 Hours as Leveraged Bulls Take the Brunt
-

Crypto markets saw $657.9 million in liquidations over the past 24 hours, with roughly 106,371 accounts wiped out as prices slid broadly across the market. Long positions absorbed the overwhelming majority of the damage, accounting for $584.38 million or approximately 89% of total liquidations, while short bets lost just $73.52 million in comparison. The lopsided nature of the flush reflects how heavily positioned traders were for continued upside before the market turned, leaving leveraged bulls with little room to absorb the sudden move against them.Ethereum took the hardest hit among individual assets, with $256.83 million in long positions liquidated, followed by Bitcoin at $180.89 million.
Together the two largest cryptocurrencies accounted for roughly two-thirds of the day's total damage. The single largest liquidation order of the session was an ETH/USDT perpetual contract on Bitget worth $28.49 million, wiped out in a single blow. The total crypto market capitalization slipped around 0.93% over 24 hours to approximately $2.65 trillion, with Bitcoin dropping below $77,000 and extending its weekly losses to 5.59%, while Ethereum slid under $2,120 to sit nearly 10% down on the week.
