MoonPay Launches Virtual Debit Card for Stablecoin Spending via AI Agents

MoonPay has launched a virtual debit card that lets users and AI agents spend stablecoins directly from self-custodied onchain wallets at any merchant supporting Mastercard.

Built with Monavate and Exodus, the card enables real-time crypto-to-fiat conversion at checkout, removing the need to pre-fund accounts or move assets offchain. Smart contracts authorize each transaction at the moment of purchase, while funds remain in user custody until spending is approved.

The product is available via CLI and agent workflows in the UK and Latin America, and is designed specifically for programmatic use—allowing users to delegate controlled spending to AI agents with identity verification required before issuance.
