Users can submit criticisms via text or links, and the tool generates credible, sourced responses drawing on more than 22 peer-reviewed studies, Cambridge reports, and ERCOT data.The tool regularly cites an April 2025 University of Cambridge study finding that more than 52% of Bitcoin is now mined using renewable energy sources, and points out that Bitcoin's renewable energy mix is higher than that of the traditional banking sector. The practical case for the tool is straightforward: most people do not have time to read through dozens of academic papers when they encounter a critical social media post about Bitcoin's energy consumption. The Evidence Base is designed to surface relevant, credible information quickly enough to be actually useful in real-time conversations.
