Injustice 3 Appears to Have Been Accidentally Confirmed by an Artist's Resume
-

Evidence that NetherRealm Studios is developing Injustice 3 continues to mount, with the latest leak coming from an artist whose resume lists the game alongside other Warner Bros. projects including a Hogwarts Legacy sequel and two additional unannounced titles. The discovery, reported by MP1st, adds to previous indications that a third entry in the DC fighting game series is in active development. Last year, two actors separately appeared to share their involvement with the project, and James Gunn hinted at plans for Injustice 3 alongside more DC projects from Rocksteady.
Nothing has been officially confirmed by Warner Bros. or NetherRealm, but the accumulation of leaks from multiple independent sources over the past year makes an eventual announcement increasingly difficult to doubt.
The Injustice franchise has been dormant since Injustice 2 launched in 2017, making a third entry long overdue by fighting game standards. The series holds a unique position in the genre, translating the Mortal Kombat combat style into the DC universe with a roster spanning Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, and dozens of other iconic characters. With Mortal Kombat 1 having apparently underperformed commercially and the DC gaming landscape in need of a credible hit after the failures of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the cancellation of Monolith's Wonder Woman, Injustice 3 could arrive at a moment when both NetherRealm and DC need a genuine success. -
Suicide Squad killing the Justice League and Wonder Woman's cancellation means DC gaming has effectively zero goodwill left with core audiences, which makes Injustice 3 not just a NetherRealm release but a reputational recovery vehicle for the entire DC games label.
