Final Fantasy 14: Evercold Officially Revealed — A New Expansion and a New Saga Begin in January 2027
-

Square Enix has officially unveiled Final Fantasy 14's next expansion, Evercold, at the first Fan Festival in Anaheim, California. Set to release in January 2027, Evercold takes players to the Fourth Reflection — one of three worlds beyond the Source that was never touched by the Ascians during their attempted Rejoining. The teaser trailer frames the reveal as a bedtime story told to a young Au Ra about the Warrior of Light, who arrives at a floating world alongside Estinien and Alphinaud, only to face mysterious crystal constructs and a creeping frost threatening to consume the land. The expansion also marks the beginning of an entirely new multi-expansion storyline called the Godless Realms Saga, suggesting future expansions may continue exploring other Reflections in the aftermath of Hydaelyn and Zodiark's fall. The road to Evercold begins with Patch 7.5, arriving April 28, which kicks off the two-part finale of Dawntrail. The second part follows on September 8, bridging the gap between the current expansion and Evercold's January launch. Two more Fan Festivals are scheduled — Berlin on July 25 and Tokyo on October 31 — where Square Enix is expected to reveal new jobs, gameplay changes, Main Scenario lore details, and a confirmed release date.
