Bitcoin Narrative vs Protocol Risk Debate
-

Michael Saylor stated that Bitcoin has effectively “won the global narrative war,” with price dynamics increasingly driven by institutional capital rather than traditional halving cycles. He emphasized that future growth is likely to be shaped by bank lending, digital credit systems, and large-scale financial integration, marking a structural shift in how Bitcoin is valued.
At the same time, Saylor identified protocol-level changes as the biggest remaining risk, pointing specifically to debates around BIP-110. He warned that poorly designed updates could introduce unintended consequences, describing such risks as “iatrogenic,” meaning harm caused by intervention itself rather than external threats.
