Security Experts Warn Over Coinbase Page Requesting Seed Phrases
-

Security researchers are raising concerns about a recovery page linked to Coinbase that asks users to input their 12-word seed phrase directly. SlowMist founder Evilcos described the practice as “unbelievable,” warning that requesting sensitive wallet credentials in plain text goes against basic crypto security principles.
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT echoed the concerns, noting that such a page could be exploited by attackers using social engineering tactics. Experts emphasize that seed phrases should never be shared, as they grant full access to a user’s funds and are a primary target in phishing scams.
