Arizona Files Criminal Charges Against Kalshi Over Gambling Claims

Arizona Attorney General’s Office has filed criminal charges against prediction market platform Kalshi, alleging it operated an illegal gambling business without a license.

Attorney General Kris Mayes said the platform allowed users to bet on elections and sports, violating Arizona state laws.

Officials argue that labeling itself as a “prediction market” does not exempt Kalshi from gambling regulations.
