Stablecoin Yield Ban in the US Could Shift Innovation Overseas
-

A potential ban on stablecoin yield payments in the United States could push innovation to other regions, according to Takatoshi Shibayama, Asia-Pacific lead at Ledger.
Shibayama said that if US regulators restrict stablecoin yields, it may prompt discussions between regulators and issuers in other countries about allowing rewards or yield mechanisms for users.
The debate comes as the United States Senate works on crypto legislation, where a proposed provision supported by banking groups would block third-party platforms from offering yield on stablecoins. Industry advocates argue such restrictions could push innovation and capital outside the US.
