USDC Overtakes Tether in Transaction Activity

For the first time since 2019, USD Coin has surpassed Tether in adjusted transaction volume.

Research from Mizuho shows USDC recording about $2.2 trillion in adjusted transaction volume this year, compared with roughly $1.3 trillion for Tether’s USDT.

That gives USDC around 64% of the combined transaction share between the two stablecoins.

Despite the shift in activity, USDT still remains the largest stablecoin by market capitalization, with a total value of about $184 billion, significantly ahead of USDC’s roughly $79 billion.
