FBI Arrests Suspect in $46M Crypto Theft Linked to U.S. Asset Seizures
-

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested a suspect accused of stealing more than $46 million in cryptocurrency tied to assets managed by the United States Marshals Service. According to FBI Director Kash Patel, authorities detained John Daghita on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin with assistance from the elite tactical unit of the French Gendarmerie.
Investigators allege that Daghita gained unauthorized access to wallets managed under a federal asset custody program. The arrest followed earlier findings from blockchain investigator ZachXBT, who traced millions of dollars in digital assets to wallets connected to the suspect. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any of the stolen cryptocurrency has been recovered.
