-

An international law enforcement operation has dismantled LeakBase, one of the internet’s most notorious cybercrime forums used for trading stolen data and hacking tools. The operation involved agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Europol, alongside authorities from multiple countries. LeakBase had grown into a massive hub for cybercriminal activity, with more than 142,000 members and over 215,000 messages exchanged on the platform.Following the takedown, the forum was replaced with official seizure banners while investigators secured critical evidence, including user accounts, private messages, credit details and IP logs. Authorities say dismantling the platform disrupts a major marketplace where criminals exchanged sensitive personal data and tools designed to facilitate cyberattacks and financial fraud.
