Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Ranked Season 41 Announced as Final Gen 9 Competitive Chapter
-

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Ranked Battle Season 41 has officially been announced and will begin on April 1, marking the final competitive season for Generation 9. Unlike previous cycles, this season will not reset monthly and will run indefinitely until online services eventually conclude. Monthly rankings and placement-based end-of-season rewards are being retired, signaling the end of the traditional competitive refresh structure.
Season 41 will continue using Regulation Set I, a dual-restricted format allowing up to two Legendary Pokémon per team, excluding Mythicals. All eligible Pokémon from Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Pokédex entries — including select regional variants — remain legal, with battles auto-set to Level 50 and full Terastallization enabled. While this marks the final structured season for Gen 9, history suggests online Ranked Battles are unlikely to disappear anytime soon, as long as Nintendo’s Switch-era infrastructure remains supported.
